Henry Groves & Son Ltd Pipe Organ Builders Nottingham

History of the Firm 2005-2011

We have specialised over the years building new organs with direct electric action. Following the success of the Epperstone installation in 1999 we have built twelve further instruments including St. Michael's Parish Church, Linby (2005), All Saints Parish Church Wingerworth (2006),St. Edmund's Parish Church, Mansfield Woodhouse (2008), and St. Giles' Parish Church, Balderton (2010)

In 2009 a new organ with this design was built for St. Michael's Parish Church, Halam to the specification of Mr Paul Hale.

Two major rebuilds with complete re-ordering of the internal layouts were completed at St. Mary's Parish Church, Bulwell 2006 (enlarged to 3 manuals) and St. Bartholemew's Parish Church, Quorn (2007).

Following the purchase of the small tuning round of Cragg Organ Builders in 2007, we now have a tuning and maintenance round with some 275 Churches.

We have recently completed the rebuild and enlargement of the 1858 Hill organ at St. Oswald's Parish Church, Ashbourne. The organ was re-dedicated on September 24th 2011 by the Most Revd & Rt Hon Dr Rowan Williams Archbishop of Canterbury.

The opening recital was performed by Mr Paul Hale, Rector Chori of Southwell Minster at 2.30pm on October 30th 2011.
