Bishop Street Methodist Church, Leicester

The organ in Bishop Street Methodist Church is ranked among the top handful of Leicester’s pipe organs. With a three-manual Hill, Norman & Beard console, and casework that dates back possibly to the time of Father Smith, it is an impressive instrument.

During our rebuild the organ was re-electrified and a modern processor system installed. A new Trumpet stop was added to the spare slide on the Great soundboard. The original HNB console was restored and relocated on a mobile platform in the main body of the church.

For detailed information about the organ’s history visit the church’s website.
Read the booklet about the organ, written by Martin Briers and Paul Hale, as a downloadable pdf [1.37mb]
